Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show Day 1

Last Wednesday we left the rain in San Diego and flew into Sin City for the annual Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show. Our first stop was TI (formerly known as Treasure Island), where we had very nice accomodations, and then we headed over to the show.

The first day of the show I just wanted to get a feel for what's new in licensed products and check out the tailgating items. One trend that really stood out to me is products geared toward female fans. I saw several booths with displays of bracelets, necklaces, and even high-end handbags (I'll get back to that).

The product that had people buzzing was the GrillTopper, a cast iron grate that sears your team logo onto hotdogs or hamburgers. By April they'll have 29 NCAA teams to choose from, just in time for Father's Day gifts.

I've seen several products for turning your tailgate into a seat but the Tailgate Couch is one of the nicest and most comfortable seats I've come across. It comes in a variety of colors and retails for $199.

On the other end of the seating spectrum is the Box Seat. The name says it all. This is a 3 sided cardboard box you can sit on with space on the sides for corporate logos. Expect to see these popping up at events soon.

This was just the beginning. Nakona hosted a party at New York New York with DMC and we saw more interesting products on day 2. Some items like these lighted baseball caps from LightWear look much better in person. We also saw some 3D sports cups that were really something.

Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show
Last year Scott Free and I made the journey to Vegas to cover the Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show for TailgatingTimes and we liked what we saw. This year we are helping the guys out with a couple of the tailgating panels and some of the party planning.

I love my TailgateCouch, especially up on my toolbox, makes you feel like your the king of the Tailgate!

I agree. I've used my Tailgate Couch for several events. It's always the hit of the party!

"Love that tailgate couch!" Seems like it should cost a lot more, and a good deal is hard to find these days.

I saw the couch first hand and I think it is great. Not only can it be used for tail gating but also for other activities! It is a must buy!!!
